GLP Extended Excretion Depletion study
1 Formål
The objective of this study is to determine the quantity of a pharmaceutical compound excreted by Atlantic salmon over a 500 dd period. The study will be conducted in accordance with the OECD priciples of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
2 Skadevirkninger
Previous studies concludes that no adverse effects were noted in salmon exposed to a 5 x higher dose than recommended.

The aquaculture industry needs new products for treating sea lice infestaions.
4 Antall dyr og art
438 Atlantic salmon smolts, 50-70 grams in average will be used in this study.
5 Hvordan etterleve 3R
The amount of fish used in this study is based on VICH guidlines and statistical and practical experience with number of samples. There is no other method for finding excretion data on this fish species that in vivo trials.
The husbandry and managent is optimized for the test animals. Humane endpoints will be used.
