Breeding Application Translational control in synaptic plasticity
This application is for continued breeding of two transgenic mouse lines in our facility.
The overall scientific goal of our research, which includes use of these mouse lines, is to understand how memories are formed in the brain at the molecular level.
The expected distress on mice in the breeding colony is expected to be minimal.
The number of animals over the 4-year period is 650. The number of animals for maintenance of the colonies is kept to the minimum number required to support our ongoing investigations. Mouse lines will be archived upon completion of the research project, or in the event of disruptions to the project, thus avoiding unnecessary maintenance of the colony.
