Hipoglicemic Effect of R-HZ00 Compounds
The efficacy of R-HZ00 compounds, as targeted anticancer therapeutic, was successfully determined in vivo,by our group in subcutaneous xenograft models of melanoma.
The goal of our new experiment is to test the effect of 2 R-HZ00 compounds on blood glucose levels of mice.
Our hypothesis is that the test drugs will have a similar effect with Metformin (the first-line drug of choice for the treatment of type 2 diabetes) , lowering the glucose levels in the blood.
60 males C57BL/6 mice will be used and the severity of the experiment will be mild.
For the moment, there is no in vitro alternative to the experiment we want to run. We'll use the minimum number of animals required to achieve statistical significance as a result of our study. Animals will be closely monitored by experienced technicians than can very early discover any sign of illness and take the decision of euthanasia, if necessary.
