Pit taging

The purpose is to pit tag fish for experimental trials at Lerang research facility in order to follow individual animals through trials. This will reduce the number of animals used in each trial because there is potential to capture more information on an individual fish basis. Expected distress for the animal is minimal. Approximately 15,000 individual Atlantic salmon will be pit tagged each year for four years.
