Pox-virus and branchiomonas cycsticola infections of Ataltnic salmon smolts are of increasing revalence in Norway. However, it is not clear how or whether these infections can be horizontally transmitted in the water. This study examines this using fish obtained form affected farms and using them as a source of infection for naive fish under laboratory conditions. A total of 900 fish will be used throughout the study examining the effects on fish caused by two important and, as yet, unculturatble pathogens.
